Sexy Cinema - The Washing Machine (Vortice mortale)

Weird choice for a film title - the blandness draws you in (and the sleazy poster art). Directed by Italian exploitation director, Ruggero Deodato (Cut and Run, Cannibal Holocaust etc) in 1993. The plot is about a police inspector who encounters three sisters, each one tries to seduce him and play games with him. He investigates a seemingly ridiculous case, a wealthy pimp disappears and one drunken sister claims to have seen his body chopped-up in a washing machine, very bizarre. The plot twists are just enough to keep you gripped, but they are far from subtle. With a theme of clairvoyance and some great cinematography; the film draws comparisons to Argento's masterpiece, Suspiria. The plot also seems to have borrowed from the American movie, Basic Instinct (the sisters theme, a sleazy cop, the combination of stylish sex and violence etc). Like some Giallo films the plot becomes an unintelligible mess, but it gives you just enough to (almost) piece it together coherently. The soundtrack is excellent, but it only appears to be a few tracks - it gets repetitive quickly. There is also plenty of flesh and sex scenes on display, the film lavishes them. Fans of sleazy movies won't be disappointed. Worth checking out if you are a horror fan, but it is a fairly mediocre movie, that leaves you feeling unfulfilled, a bit like the men in this film.
